Black Magic Dress

The style of the dress is light and breathy and the chest is not lined, but the fabric is substantial and weighty. The handkerchief points are embroidered and trimmed with delicate edging. These saucy dresses can be worn without a bra or layered over a cami, swimsuit, or black strapless bra. (Or with the bra straps tucked under the dress straps if you’re adventurous.)

Wear them with sandals to the ren faire or dress them up with heels for a night of salsa dancing. And, yes, they would be a perfect witch “costume” for Halloween or dark fairy dress on a day-to-night tour in NOLA, and can be layered over tights, boots, long sleeves, and/or worn with a sweater, cape, velvet duster or your favorite leather bomber jacket when it’s chilly. These dresses are magically versatile and flattering to a surprisingly wide range of shapes and sizes.

Care Instructions:

These dresses are handmade and dyed in India. Never throw them in the washer and dryer! They can be dry cleaned or handwashed in cold water with gentle laundry soap. Be sure to wash them by themselves, especially the first few times, and don’t leave them soaking for hours (you’ll loosen the dye). Just rinse, gently squeeze out the water and hang. Also, if you hang them outside, remember to set yourself a timer to bring them back in before they fade as a result of spending hours in bright sunlight. With a little care, these dresses are quite sturdy and long-lasting.
